The MHES PTA Book Fair Committee is organizing a book drive that starts Monday, February 6 and goes through Monday, February 20. Books that are collected will be used for the following purposes:

• The week before spring break, students will have the opportunity to "shop" for a book to read over spring break. Each child will get to choose a free book, and it will be theirs to keep. Teachers will also have the opportunity to select a few books each to add to their classroom library.

• In our Fall 2023 Book Fair, each child will be able to select a book for free, so that everyone gets a book at the book fair. The books available that the students get to select from will include books purchased with money we have earned at previous book fairs as well as books that are donated in this book drive.

So please go through your child's bookshelves, and if you have any gently-used children's books in good condition and appropriate for Grades K-5 that you would like to donate, drop them off in the mornings or after school by the front office. Please also consider donating books with sensory elements (these can even be board books) as they are especially enjoyed by our autism students. There will be a wagon set out for the students to put their books in. If the wagon is not out, please give them to Ms. Megan or Ms. Renifer in the main office.

El Comité de la Feria del Libro de la PTA de MHES está organizando una colecta de libros que comienza el Lunes, 6 de Febrero y termina el Lunes, 20 de Febrero. Los libros que se recolecten se utilizarán para los siguientes propósitos:

• La semana antes de las vacaciones de primavera, los estudiantes tendrán la oportunidad de "comprar" un libro para leer durante las vacaciones de primavera. Cada niño podrá elegir un libro gratis, y será suyo para quedárselo. Los maestros también tendrán la oportunidad de seleccionar algunos libros para agregar a la biblioteca de su salón de clases.

• En nuestra Feria del Libro de otoño de 2023, cada niño podrá seleccionar un libro gratis, para que todos obtengan un libro en la feria del libro. Los libros disponibles que los estudiantes pueden seleccionar incluirán libros comprados con dinero que hemos ganado en ferias de libros anteriores, así como libros que se donan en esta colecta de libros.

Por lo tanto, revise los estantes de libros de su hijo y, si tiene libros para niños usados en buen estado y apropiados para los Grados K-5 que le gustaría donar, déjelos en la mañana o después de la escuela en la oficina principal. También considere donar libros con elementos sensoriales (estos pueden incluso ser libros de cartón) ya que nuestros estudiantes con autismo los disfrutan especialmente. Habrá un vagón para que los estudiantes pongan sus libros. Si el vagón no está afuera, entrégueselo a la Sra. Megan o a la Sra. Renifer en la oficina principal.
